Foundation Vidanta Award 2014 Winners.
Jury Meeting
The Panel of Judges for the Fundacion Vidanta Award met on August 28 and 29 in Nayarit, Mexico, to choose the winning institutions for the corresponding prizes for the year 2014. The Panel was comprised of: Carmelo Angulo, Nora Lustig, José Luis Machinea, Luis Maira and Julio María Sanguinetti. Having observed all of the formalities and established procedures in the rules for the Fundacion Vidanta Award, and after due consideration of the candidates and deliberation about the same, the Panel of Judges has decided to award the following initiatives:
First Prize: Unidos por la Montaña, A.C., Mexico.
Unidos por la Montaña, A.C., is a nonprofit organization established in 2007. Works at Guerrero and Guanajuato and supports highly marginalized communities and indigenous people living in extreme poverty in the Mountain of these locations.

Second Prize: La Colifata, Salud Mental y Comunicación, Argentina.
La Colifata Salud Mental y Comunicación was established in 2005 from the project "La Colifata" – the radio of patients and ex patients of the hospital Borda of Buenos Aires- in motion since 1991 has a trajectory of over 22 years and is recognized internationally as a pioneer in using the media as a tool in the service of mental health. La Colifata has inspired hundreds of projects worldwide.

Third Prize: MaderaVerde Foundation, Honduras.
MaderaVerde Foundation, established in 2004, is a Honduran non-profit organization that began operations on the northern coast of Honduras in 1993 Since 2008 works in alliance with the non-profit American organization GreenWood, leading the mechanism "intermediary Green "linking forest communities with high-value markets. The mechanism produces environmental, social and economic benefits, combining technical assistance and practical research to finding niche markets and transparent, equitable and accessible financial relationships.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Pro Mujer.
Pro Mujer is a nongovernmental organization established in Bolivia in 1990. Its mission is to contribute to economic development, health and inclusion of women through financial services, training and health services. Currently, Pro Mujer works in Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru, serving more than 285,000 low-income and poor women who suffer from lack of education, low socioeconomic status, and exclusion from formal economic systems. Clients of Pro Mujer are mainly women between the ages of 21 and 45, and most of them live in small towns and work in commercial activities. From Over 24 years, Pro Mujer has payed out more than $ 1,000 million to personal loans and has helped more than 1.6 million women and 6.4 million of children and families. It is an engine of growth and employment in Latin America, with 2,000 employees who come from the local communities where they work.
