Los días 26 y 27 de abril se realizó la Conferencia Internacional "Scholars, Practiotioners, and Inter-American Relations". La reunión tuvo lugar en el Davisdson Conference Center de la University of Southern California y contó con el patrocinio de: USC Center for International Studies, School of International Relations, Jesse M. Unruh Institute, USC Office of Globatlization, United Nations Develpment Program, International Development Research Centre, Canada, y la Fundación Vidanta. Tuvo como keynote speakers a: Arturo Valenzuela, Assitant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, y a Heraldo Muñoz, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, United Nations Development Programme.
